Funds that are no longer receiving contributions should be marked Inactive in Gabriel. Marking them Inactive only moves the fund from the Active tab to the Inactive tab. Inactive fund contributions remain visible on the Family Contribution tab and Fund Contributions tab, if contribution was received in the past two years. Any contribution older than two years must be retrieved from Gabriel Reports or the Report Library.
Reducing the list of Active funds will make your multi-fund batch entries run quicker due to the reduced size of the Active Fund list. It will also reduce the potential to record contributions to the wrong fund. Accidently recording a contribution to the Parish Support fund when you have two Parish Support funds Active.
